OPEN CALL FOR THE 2nd Edition of the MOAC BISS BIENNIAL 2027 – “Djidiundadi: Timelessness and Utopias”
The 2027 edition of the Biennial proposes, through the motto “Djidiundadi — Timelessness and Utopias”, a profound reflection on the role of the artist as guardian of memory, transmitter of knowledge and agent of social transformation. The word Djidiu, a term used in Guinea-Bissau to designate the Griot, refers to a central figure in the traditional societies of West Africa, particularly within the Mandinka, Fula or Bambara civilizations, where these musicians, poets and chroniclers assumed the responsibility of preserving and transmitting the history, values, philosophy and identity of their peoples.
The MoAC Biss Biennial Foundation is opening applications for the second edition of the MoAC Biss Biennial 2027 in four (4) curatorial areas:
– Conferences and Public Policies
– Performing Arts and Moving Images
– Literature
– Plastic and Visual Arts
